Troubleshooting Known Problems Reading the Uploaded COMPLETE Log

Our Hydrocarbon Well Log plotting program produces a full log of the well up to the current lagged depth.  This is saved in a file named "COMPLETE" for a 5" log or "COMP1" for a 1" log.   These are HTML files that construct the log from individual 100' graphical log segments posted in GIS format.  Occasionally, there will be missing panels.  This is results from:

  1. Your connection to the site "timed out" during the transfer.  This is fairly common.  When it occurs, the lower part of the log may consist of a series blank pages with a *.GIS file name in the upper left-hand corner.
  2. The log is complete but missing one or more panels in the middle of the log.  The blank panel(s) has a *.GIS file name in the upper left-hand corner.
  3. You cannot view or upload the files using Netscape Navigator.

Solution to Problem #1: If the log has missing panels, click on "Refresh" to force completion of the upload.  If Refresh fails, log off of the Quality site and log on again.  Then upload the COMPLETE file once more.  You should receive the full log.  If this still fails your server needs rebooting.  Type <Ctrl> Refresh to reset your server.  If the problem persists, contact David or Bob at Quality Logging.

Solution to Problem #2: The panel did not load up properly from the Logging Unit.  Simply call the Unit and ask the logger on tour to recompile and repost the missing panel(s).

Solution to Problem #3: You are missing the zip.txt file on the site.  Call the Unit and have them post the zip files and zip.txt file.
